16th Annual · PDGA A-Tier | September 11–13, 2026 · Fairmont, WV

Played in His Name. Won on His Courses.

Honoring Seth Burton: 16 years of competition, community, and the people who keep showing up.

“Orange crush is a new favorite course and a hidden gem...”

— Chandler Kramer Touring Pro

About The Tournament

Sixteen years ago, a tight-knit group of West Virginia disc golfers built something worth keeping. The Seth Burton Memorial is a family event at its core, homegrown, community-run, and deeply rooted in Marion County by the Fairmont Flyers Disc Golf Club.

Two courses, two completely different challenges. The Seth Burton Memorial is an open, park-style layout with generous sight lines and punishing out-of-bounds. Orange Crush is a dense, wooded track where precise lines and smart disc placement are the only way through. Full MPO lead card coverage all weekend by Ace Run Pro, one of the most widely watched disc golf channels in the country.

SBM, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built to grow disc golf in West Virginia and beyond. Learn more at sethburtonmemorial.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a PDGA member?

Yes. All registrants must be current PDGA members through 2026. You can join or renew at pdga.com/join.

When does registration close?

Registration closes September 7, 2026 at 11:59 PM EDT. The field fills to 320 players. Don't wait.

What is included with registration?

Registration includes tournament rounds, digital scoring access, event amenities, and players pack items based on division.

Where are parking and check-in located?

Parking maps and check-in instructions are emailed to all participants 72 hours before the event and posted at each host course.

How are tee times and cards assigned?

All rounds use tee times. Round 1 uses division-based assignment; subsequent rounds are grouped by score and division per PDGA standards.

What should I expect for weather in September?

Fairmont in mid-September is typically comfortable: daytime highs in the mid-60s to low-70s°F, cooler mornings around 50°F, and occasional afternoon rain. Bring rain gear. West Virginia weather can shift quickly.

What is the withdrawal and refund policy?

We follow PDGA Competition Manual 1.03 strictly. Here's the short version:

  • 30+ days before: Full refund minus up to a $10 handling fee.
  • 15–29 days before: Full refund (minus up to $10) if your spot is filled from the waitlist; otherwise 50% refund or player pack.
  • Under 14 days before: Full refund (minus up to $10) if your spot is filled from the waitlist; otherwise 25% refund or player pack.
  • Within 48 hours or after registration closes: No refund, unless your spot is filled from the waitlist.

Withdrawals must be made directly to the Tournament Director using the contact listed on the event page, not through other staff or third parties.

Can I bring a caddie or spectators?

Yes! Spectators and caddies are welcome and encouraged. Caddies must follow all PDGA rules during the round, including appropriate dress code and the prohibition of alcohol/tobacco during tournament play.

Will there be water or restrooms on the courses?

Restrooms are located near Tournament Central and the back pavilion. Water stations will be available near Tournament Central and at strategic holes on both courses. However, Orange Crush is a long, wooded hike — we highly recommend bringing your own insulated water bottle or water bag.

Is there a designated warm-up area?

Yes, a practice basket and net will be set up near Tournament Central. Because this is a tee-time event, players cannot practice on the tournament courses once the first tee time of the day has begun.

What is the plan for lost discs?

Any discs found during the tournament should be turned in at Tournament Central. We will maintain a Lost & Found box throughout the weekend.

Do we get a lunch break?

Since this event uses a tee-time format with one round per day, there is no scheduled mid-day lunch break. You will have plenty of time before or after your round to explore local food options. Check out our Player Info page for local recommendations.
